Our websites are hosted at Host Europe virtual server, located at the datadock Strasbourg, which is one of the most secure data centres in Europe. When you visit our websites, our webserver makes a temporary record of each access and stores it in a log file. The following data are recorded:

• IP address of the requesting processor
• Date and time of access
• Name and URL of the downloaded file
• Volume of data transmitted
• Indication whether download was successful
• Data identifying the browser software and operating system
• Website (URL) from which our site was accessed

The purpose of recording these data is to allow use of websites (connection setup), for system security, for problem diagnosis and for technical administration of the network infrastructure. The IP address is only evaluated in the event of fraudulent access to the network infrastructure. Evaluations beyond this, for the purpose of optimising our internet service, are not conducted at an individual personalized level. An evaluation is carried out in the form of an anonymous statistic.

Should you be asked to submit personal information on our websites, the information you supply will be on a voluntary basis and serves the purposes of the continuing care of our prospect, facilitating the response to your enquiry and request to get in touch with you, in particular for the provision of information or services requested. Your details will be handled in accordance with legal requirements, in particular for the purposes for which you voluntarily provided the information.

Our websites use so-called cookies. Cookies are harmless to your computer and contain no viruses. Cookies serve the purpose of making our offerings more user friendly, more effective and safer. Cookies are small bites of information that are stored by your browser on your computer’s hard drive. Most of the cookies used on our websites are so-called “session cookies”. The session data collected is automatically erased at the latest when you close your browser. Other cookies remain stored on your device until you erase them. These cookies make it possible for us to recognise your browser when you next visit our site. You can configure your browser to inform you about the placement of cookies, to only allow them on a case-by-case basis, to accept them in specific cases or to generally block them. You can set your browser to automatically delete cookies when it is closed. The de-activation of cookies may impair the functionality of our websites.

Our websites use Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google. Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies” (see above). The information created by the cookie on your use of our websites is transferred to a Google server in Ireland and stored there. Google uses this information to evaluate use of the website, to compile reports on the website activities for the website operators, and to offer further services connected to the website use and internet use. Google may also pass this information on to third parties, if this is legally required or the third parties process this data on behalf of Google. IMC only uses this data to optimise the Go-Lab Ecosystem, including all its websites, in order to make it more user friendly and better fit your needs.

Google will never connect your IP address with other data from Google. You can prevent the installation of cookies with the correct settings on your browser software. We would like to point out, however, that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of our websites fully. By using our websites, you agree to the processing of the data collected about you by Google as previously described for the stated purpose. Further information on Google Analytics can be found on the internet or at https://www.google.com/analytics.

Additionally, you can object to the collection of your data by using a Google browser plug-in.

In the Go-Lab Ecosystem, we do not use any plugins of the social media channels. However, there are links provided in form of social media buttons (small icons with the letter “f” for Facebook, “in” for LinkedIn,  “YouTube” for YouTube, and a bird-sign for Twitter) or as direct links. If clicking a social media button or a link on our website, you will be forwarded to our page or group in the respective social media channel. This channel will receive the URL of the page, from which you have been forwarded. If you are logged in as a member of the social media channel, it will assign this information to your personal user account. If you are a member of a social media channel and want to prevent collection and connection of your data stored in this channel, you must log out of the channel before using our websites. It is not sufficient to simply close the page.

IMC has no influence on and is not accountable for the data collection, processing and storage in the social media channels. For more information concerning collection and use of the data by social media channels and your rights and possibilities for protection of your privacy, please visit the data protection notes of the respective channels. For your convenience, we provide information about the social media channels, which can be accessed from our websites, below.

The Go-Lab Ecosystem uses embedded YouTube-videos as part of the extended data protection modus. This means: YouTube does not save any cookies for a user who visits a website with an embedded YouTube-video player but does not click on the video to start it. If the user starts the YouTube-video player, YouTube may save cookies on the user’s computer, although no personal data-related cookie information about displaying the embedded videos will be saved. We do not collect any personal data in relation to the embedded videos.

The Go-Lab Ecosystem (the Go-Lab Sharing Platform, the Go-Lab Support page, and the Go-Lab Premium page mentioned above) is operated as a Showcase Platform and does not require user authentication. It is not possible anymore to create an account or login in the Go-Lab Ecosystem. However, we have kept the accounts created during the lifetime of the Go-Lab projects, in order to be able to display the user names of the online lab, inquiry app, and Inquiry Learning Space owners, creators and contributors published on the platform. These accounts contain a user name (which can be a nickname) and an e-mail-address. If you have created an account during the lifetime of the Go-Lab projects and would like to delete your account, please contact info@golabz.eu. Please also refer to the sections "Content published in Go-Lab Ecosystem" and "Access and deletion of data" below.

The Go-Lab Ecosystem collects, processes and uses data, with the goals and in amount described in the sections “Collection, processing and use of data”, “Use of cookies”, and “Google Analytics”.

The Go-Lab Sharing Platform represents a collection of software applications (online laboratories and learning applications) developed and provided by the Go-Lab and Next-Lab consortium partners and by project external organizations (third parties). Software applications developed by the Go-Lab and Next-Lab consortium partners are hosted at secure servers within EU. These applications do not collect any personal data.

The Go-Lab and Next-Lab project partners, including IMC, do not have ownership rights to the software applications provided by the third parties and they do not have any control of and are not accountable for the data collection, processing and usage in the software applications provided by the third parties. Please note the data policy of these third-party providers in order to inform yourself how these providers, whose responsibilities lie beyond our control, collect, process or use your data.

In case you have published content (online lab, inquiry app, or Inquiry Learning Space) at the Go-Lab Sharing Platform, you agree to disclosure of the following personal data: your name (user name, which can be displayed in the “lab owner”, “contact person”, “app creator”, “ILS owner”, or “ILS creator” fields) and your e-mail address (the e-mail address is not directly visible to other users; however, it can be accessed when clicking the “contact” button in your user profile). You are responsible for the content you published at the Go-Lab Sharing Platform and for any personal data contained in this content.

The Go-Lab and Next-Lab project partners, including IMC, do not have ownership rights to the software applications (online labs and inquiry apps) published by the third parties at the Go-Lab Sharing Platform. All software applications provided by the third parties are used for non-commercial purposes only. The third party providers may request the removal of their software applications from the Go-Lab Ecosystem at any time by contacting info@golabz.eu.

The Inquiry Learning Spaces (ILSs) are published under Creative Commons licence. This means that when publishing your ILS at the Go-Lab Sharing Platform, you grant the rights to the community to copy, adapt, use, and republish the ILS.  You can request a removal of your original ILS at any time by contacting info@golabz.eu. However, this won’t affect any copies of your ILS, which have been created or published by other community members.

At all times, you have the right, without charge, to access information about the personal data we hold, its source and recipients and the purpose of its processing as well as the right to its correction or deletion. In order to request information about your personal data, to correct your personal data, to delete your account including all personal data and for all other questions on the subject of personal data you can contact us at info@golabz.eu. On your request, we are obliged to provide the following information:

• the purposes of data processing
• the categories of personal data concerned
• the recipients or categories of recipients to whom the personal data have been or will be disclosed, in particular recipients in third countries or international organisations
• where possible, the envisaged period for which the personal data will be stored, or, if not possible, the criteria used to determine that period
• the existence of the right to request rectification or erasure of personal data or restriction of processing of personal data or to object to such processing
• the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
• where the personal data are not collected, any available information as to their source
• the existence of automated decision-making, including profiling, referred to in Article 22(1) and (4) of GDPR and, at least in those cases, meaningful information about the logic involved, as well as the significance and the envisaged consequences of such processing

If you published any software or content (online labs, inquiry apps, Inquiry Learning Spaces) at the Go-Lab Sharing Platform under Creative Commons license, it will not be possible to remove your name (or user name) from this content, as long as it is publicly available for other users (as it must be possible to identify the owner of the content) and from the copies of the content created by other users (as it must be possible to identify the original author of the content). If you published any ratings or comments at the Go-Lab Sharing Platform, after your account has been removed, these will be displayed in an anonymised way.

In the course of the continuing further development of the internet it is a necessity to amend this Data Privacy Statement in line with changing conditions. Users will be notified of significant changes on these pages in a timely manner.
